I can't believe some people have a nerve to post something like that. It felt insulting.

Only takes 300 bucks to file for your numbers. So if you truly want to be on your own, there is no reason not to be.

Yea there is. I need a good trailer. And some more money. 300 to file. 8000 for insurance, probably 2500 down, still need trailer though. This one I go every where with is a 2015 with about 60K on it, it's sooooooo nice, air slide pins too. No I'm good for the moment. Got my plan, gonna stick with it.
This trailer was 25K brand new. I'm going ask if they will sell it when I go.
It makes such a difference in the ride quality. It's CARB compliant too.
So glad I drove down to receiver, some WTF construction on the way here, that would have been afu in the morning. 20151128_090020.jpg

Trailers are cheap. If nothing else you can lease one. As far as the money, if you are averaging two bucks a mile it doesn't take long to accumulate a good chunk of cash. It just takes self control to make yourself keep working, and not spend it. most of us have a big spending problem. You give a hundred guys a twenty thousand dollar a year raise, and a year later 99 of them will have absolutely no more savings than they did before the raise.

I'm the opposite, I am very thrifty. I just can't stay motivated to work. I blame my wife, she just makes being home too much fun.

    Basically:

"If I'm hauling it: it's a repositioning load. If you're hauling the same load: it's cheap freight"

    That's the gist of it.

I didn't read all the responses here... but some....I have determined.....for me personally....with my set up....anything below $2.57 per mile is cheap freight. Start talking 17k lbs+,tarps, multi stops...... and then 3 per mile is cheap....

Can I change that a little?-------
"If I'm hauling it: it's a repositioning load. If someone else hauls the load that you are repositioning for to reposition themselves : it's cheap freight"

That's just my opinion. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another- it comes down to what's in the bank at the end of the day.
