Ok, I'm not a new driver just not really sure where to post this.

So, I worked for a company (I'm saying worked because I got discharged). Let me explain. Me and my husband are team drivers and have been doing it for a year. We switched companies to make more money so we were in our 90 day period. Anywho, our tractor had to go into the shop because the water pump went out. We were going to do home time in just a couple days so we sat for 2 days and took that time as home time in hotel near our home terminal. We were OFF DUTY and RELIEVED FROM WORK. We were drinking and got into an altercation at the hotel. Let me mind you that the hotel is where we did orientation. So the hotel called the cops on us and arrested my husband because we had gotten into a fight. So the hotel calls the company we work for and the company we work for fired us. But the thing is, when I spoke to the man in SAFETY he told us he doesn't employ people who go to jail. It kind of shocked me he said that because I have a felony on my background and nothing was said when I was hired. Also he tried to make an excuse saying that the company paid for the hotel and when I told him that we paid for the hotel and the company didn't and it was considered home time because we were off duty he got quiet and come with the smart remark of 'we don't employ people who go to jail'. Long story short is, I honestly feel like that was wrong and I wonder if I should get my lawyer involved. Now I'm applying to other trucking companies and they have this stuff on my DAC report.

And all of this was when I was---- Off-duty time is when the driver is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work!!!

    Advice?

Since you were fired; tell us which company you worked for.
Where is your domicile; state & nearest city? Other companies will hire you.

I honestly don't need that kind of reply. I don't need marriage counseling. If you're married you already know you can get into heated arguements

Shows how immature you are and so closed minded. Probably still live at home with Mommy. Thanks!

I'm already looking and we were on the truck for almost 6 weeks so I believe you can understand why we probably argued, we needed some space. That truck can get small, you know? We are already putting in other applications. I don't need help finding a job thank you though. Just needed advice on seeing maybe if I should get my lawyer involved

Well considering we were off duty, it's nobody's business what we do. Until someone is convicted of a crime, they are not guilty.
