My boss in the small company I work for is setting me up with a dedicated run with some reefers. It's been a while since I've pulled them and that was brief. Besides the obvious stuff like check the temp, watch the fuel pay attention if it cuts off, what should I study up on? Any recommendations for articles or websites?
What should I know

Know that you will never know it all and try to learn one small thing, anything at all, every day.
Oh and don't be even one minute late delivering to costco or walmart especially. Carry plenty of cash for lumpers or comchecks. If doing ltl learn how the receivers are and use that info at shipper how you want it loaded so on the other end you can kick that stuff off as fast as possible.tonycr and Flashdrive7 Thank this. -
Who is going to be responsible for the maintenance on the units? Do you have access to a 24/7 help line in the event of unit trouble? Do you have a protocol set up for what the driver is to do in the event of unit trouble after-hours?
If running in far northern regions, be sure to keep fuel treated as needed. After treating fuel, be sure to run unit for 15 minutes to cycle treated fuel throughout the system before shutting off. I recommend double the recommended fuel treatment dosage if operating in or expected to start when temps are below zero F. Test the battery. Also, if in doubt about the life of the battery, replace it with a quality new high-cap battery.
Learn if your system has a "system maintenance mode" to help keep the batteries charged and engine block from getting too cold when sitting for extended periods and /or in extreme cold.Flashdrive7 Thanks this.
