We voted to have them take the 15% back, but they keep extending the contract without even giving us the option to vote. THey got money, especially with all the brand new equipment coming in plus the attempt to buy ABF. They must be paying the union under the table to keep this going. It was supposed to be up this year back in march. I wouldnt be agitated if they were still in the hole but they are making profit
imtimmy Thanks this. -
Yea my dad told me this about a month ago too

update first two weeks at yrc have been decent basically overtime almost everyday wish they had better equipment, but I guess I will have to deal with it. talked with the union steward yesterday and I was told that we're eligible for the union in 30 days so I guess it's a little different over here. Do we work the first week and get paid the second or two weeks and get paid the third???

Some terminals are different. The peddle units basically retired and destroyed road units that are down graded. All the Mack's and internationals are going to be sold soon with the new trucks coming in and the sterlings will be down graded to city units

Hey ACH, uno I havent worked since 2 mondays ago. I have no clue what the deal is, but anyways im told I can transfer to another terminal so I apply for the Ft. WORTH terminal since we'll be moving there in 2 weeks and the terminal manager there wont even call and theyre hiring. The HR lady says she doesnt know whats goin on. Im tryin to transfer before I have to turn in a 2 weeks notice. Have u ever heard of this?

I also found out I was doin "too many drop offs and pickups" vs the union guys so the terminal manager was liking it but was callin me EVERY 30 mins. like im being rushed. While im seeing the other guys sit at truck stops and parks. My dad (current Nashville road driver) tells me to slow down because they watch what im doin and wonder if im doin it recklessly. So I slowed down 1 day and after that, havent worked since.

Don't let them rush you, there's a difference between doing the job right and rushing. Probly the TM is just upset as he took you in and now you want to transfer out. I would talk to the shop steward about the transfer.

The drivers should have schooled you on how much time each run takes. That's what they did to me when i worked for them in 2006. I was used to working my a.. off and was making to many trips to the rail yard. The other drivers noticed and told me what the rules were, lol. So after that I took my time. It's different at Reddaway though. I work hard here!
