I have read lawyers recommending if you carry a baseball bat for protection, you should also carry a glove and baseball so that you could say you occasionally play baseball. Just carrying the bat around, if you hit someone with it, the argument against you will be that you had premeditated intent to do bodily harm. Guns and knives are the same way. Better to try to use everyday trucking tools for defense, 'hey, it was handy and I use it everyday' no premeditated intent see.
We asked our employer what we could do, both legally and to comply with company policy. I carry pepper spray, and if my tire thumper needs to be employed as well, hopefully it will be enough.
Exactly. Everytime I read about a shooting I cringe a little. The general population already has an overly negative perception of guns and I really don't want to see even more restrictions placed on firearms when the problem is people. To me, shooting is an activity I absolutely love. I would spend hours at the range everyday if I could and I take any threat of firearm bans/restrictions as a direct insult.
Easily refuted.... I use rocks and loose bottlecaps like Dominicans. Reasonable doubt created and makes the other party look racist.
I still have my tire thumper, it has a few notches on it from couple people whose heads were hit in righteous self defense. There is also a smaller KaBar if such a thing made sense to anyone. The big one is too big Im one of those people who improvises a weapon at a moment's notice. Fast forward to today, I carry a Colt Railgun plus a two shot BackUpGun (Aka "Bug" when folded looks nothing like a gun. But is instantly recognizeable by anyone who has been exposed to a particular article) There are certain States in the United States of America who will treat me as a outrageous felon of the worst kind on mere possession of the gun, ammunition and/or and so forth... Im licensed to Conceal Carry and feel that Im very effective when armed. But again if we are supposed to be these United States for a free union. Under that current situation, I carry USCCA Insurance. Last week I was informed that the Insurance now covers any self defense of yourself or anyone without a gun. If you use hands, feet and so on it's now a coverable event. If you used a blade that too. Applies to any self defense situation that went hot on you despite your efforts to deescalate or even vamanos, scram or evade the situation entirely. It is no longer mandatory to carry a CHL in my state to carry a weapon openly. If you are open carrying, there is nothing in your wallet that can be carried to be a defense to prosecution while open carry in particular. However if you are concealed carrying, you need to have that CHL with you. Most every time I reveal the CHL along with the DL to a police man, they become rather nice and loyal calling you Brother. Because they know you went through alot to get that. I have said in the past I love the Law. And with equal conviction I do not spend money inside a facility that does not want guns within the building. Take Baptist Hospital in West Little Rock. No Handgun allowed inside readable from not only the lawful 10 feet distance from the doorway, but there are 5000 more doors (To paraphrase) with which there is a need to sign and so forth. There are certain parts of Arkansas and Little Rock in which the threat level is insane especially at sunset. I don't care if you are John Wayne or some kind of superstar angel Michael down here in the earth. You do not go into these certain areas.
Be careful being in possession of those Batons or ASP's that I call them. In some areas it gets you arrested no ifs buts or any law. You don't lawfully possess them police weapons period. Now if you are in a free state and possess them legally, Im right there with you. WHoo hoo.
