There is nothing wrong with micromanaging your drivers. I personally prefer a phone call every hour during my break or reset from K&B. The dispatchers are incredible conversationalists and we just talk and talk.

Eventually, they have to call other drivers and it’s like....

Or, just go personal with the call.

“Oh, hey DM. I’m alright now, but I was in rough shape earlier! Oh man, that roller dog went through me like a knife through hot butter. I’ve never seen a toilet turned completely brown before, you feeling me brah? “

What’s better is when you’re in a bathroom with tiled walls and floor, with a drywall ceiling. Nice acoustics for letting a loud belch fly. :)

Or, pinning the covers over your concubine’s head and ripping a good SBD. Okay, okay, maybe that crosses the line.

There was a court case on the subject of communications from a company during your break years ago. It was ruled that a company could communicate with a driver within reason during your break, but not excessively. I would update dispatch & give them 30min to send any msgs before I would turn down the volume..

Yep, that's why u record the phone call, and if they fire u. Let them know that, since I'm fired, the truck location, and get a plane/bus ticket home, after getting all ur stuff out of the truck. O and have them also send it three the eld messaging. So this way, if they try to get u on vehicle abandonment, u have the records, to get it removed, plus u are following the law, while they are breaking the law by calling u on ur 10hr.

I'll simply have the ELD go on duty 15 minutes for a phone call. Restart the sleeper or off duty break time. And continue to fill the ELD with notations, work call work call work call work call work call.

And repeat the restart of he off duty or sleeper until the calls stop long enough to actually start a new workday.

That 1250 salary would be nice when we never drive anywhere fielding phone calls all week wrecking the HOS's next work day.

Have a ledger pad document everything. Keep the phone logs too. Time and dates match the logs.
