I’d replace those lines as @dosgatos said - then every other line with blue silicone lines and good clamps.

    Cheap insurance.

    WHat would I do?

I would have changed the line out a long time ago.

Maybe look at an SS version they use in marine applications.

clamp and rubberized duck tape is a must as mentions.

Well, you got it to the shop with no issues, probably the longest 25 miles you've driven in awhile lol.

As mentioned above, change out the hoses, good clamps, spares on board with tools that you need to so roadside repairs.

Hope your week gets better, safe travels.

To be fair someone mentioned he was a new owner op. So id guess he has not had the truck long enough to figure out whats what. Not saying your wrong. Just a point to consider.

I’ve been an owner op for 6 days. 3 of which I’ve been broken down with a load behind me. I know that agent is not happy. Hope December is a better month.

OK I am going to give you some advice, if there is something you do not know the age of a componet is, then change it. Water pump, lift pump, hoses, and so on. Each item has a life cycle, if you want to make sure you are mission-critical all the time, then you have to be proactive on everything.

    Will it cost you more?

Hell yes but when it is all said and done, you can show to a customer that you are very dependable. And this is where your reputation is built, dependability.

Big oof. Been there done that got the giant ### 4 year long thread to prove it. As a general rule when you get a new to you used rig. Its a good idea to go ahead and change everything consumable on it. Belts hoses fluids filters. And do ALLLLLLLL the PM style maintaince. I.e oil filters, def filters, dpf can clean, new clamps for exhaust ect. Throw an alignment at it. New lights wipers everything.

It costs a pretty penny, but one or two tows cost more then going over it with a fine toothed comb and getting it squared away. That will head off a goodly number of issues and can uncover things like that hard line going bad.
