Yout ever notice that the ones that DON'T cry are the ones that are making money? There's the answer, some people are good at negotiating and can build relationships with agents, others are not and need to be spoon fed.

The challenge in any scenario when you are dealing with a captive brokerage situation like LS is that you need to make sure you stay in markets that they have freight. Not impossible and a smart business owner can do well.
But get into a dead market for LS and you are running MT or getting a load from another broker that has to give it to one of the LS brokers.
What I really liked LS for was getting those loads to markets they had no return freight. The LS Broker had to bid it high to get a LS BCO to run it so they pay well and then get another load from some other company.icsheeple and double yellow Thank this. -
Mercer, Sammons or Landstar. (Flatbed/Stepdeck) Opinions please

It may be captive but with 25000 loads a day a wise person can make things work out, how many more does one need to choose from? -
These companies all have threads of their own with opinions galore expressed. Do a quick search and you'll be overwhelmed with "opinions". If I was in the market to lease on a truck somewhere (and to be fair; I'm not) Sammons is the only one on your list that I would consider.
