They drove all the way to a small town and then, switched vehicles to get to my dad's place in the middle of nowhere...
Driving in Fortaleza... streets are very tight... lots of small motorcycles...

    Then... on the road... highway...

I am very thankful that truck didn't decide to do the "Quebra de Asa" in front of us.... those who don't know what "Quebra de Asa" means... just do a search on Youtube.... very scary...

For 5 hrs we drove on highway and state roads... but they were 2 lane narrow roads... soooo full of huge holes everywhere.. that we had to constantly drive on the shoulder and on the opposite lane to avoid them....

Ms. @Rocks ... I commend you WHOLEHEARTEDLY for doing what you are, for your family. I think people in your country of origin are VERY family oriented, which I wish we had more of here. I was going through your posts at work last night at the receiver, and it literally teared me up.

My wife lost her dad in February. We were on the way to the airport to fly her to Florida, when we got the call, he'd expired. You are blessed.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much; I miss a lot driving nights and sleeping days, but I sure wish you AND YOUR DAD and your whole familia, only the best. Keep us posted; stay blessed.

Thank you very much Mr. @G13Tomcat ... your nice words warm my heart... :yes2557:
Yes, it's a real blessing that I can be here while my dad is still alive... and finally he believes that I, his (only) daughter am here.... My dad is the only family that really matters to me... I have an uncle who also lives around here... and another who lives in Rio but we never communicate... I also have cousins here and there... most I don't know... never met... I know my cousins in Rio and called them several times... but they never call me and don't seem interested in staying in contact.... :biggrin_25513:
Thank you so very much for your best wishes sir... All the best to you and your family as well... :biggrin_25519:

Went to closest little town for some shopping today... the road is in pretty bad shape... holes are being patched but they just fill them up some with shovels and leave them like that.... that's unfinished work IMO but for them... that's good enough... :biggrin_25523:

Road is so bad.... vehicles have to drive on both sides and anywhere to avoid the holes...
