We never did get around to eating seafood. They had a fairly full agenda for us, and we just ran out of time. I noticed that it's located on Market St, just a few blocks away from a motel we stayed at when we first arrived. I did learn that Market St is not one to travel on during the daytime. I was on a side street trying to get onto Market, and it took 15 mins. There's no such thing as courtesy down there. Also on some streets if there's an accident you're almost totally shut down until they get it cleared. No way to bypass it, like going around the block. While returning from the beach, there were 2 accidents on the same street we needed to be on, closing the street down in both directions. Luckily my son new of a way taking some back streets to get around them. He said that if one of the streets we used was closed, we were screwed.

All in all, not a bad trip. It was however very exhausting. We didn't drive straight through on the return trip. We stopped in Lexington for the night, then drove on home the next day, arriving home at about 3am Saturday.

What I do not like about Wilmington.. Humidity, mosquitoes, rain. It would rain every day, but not all day. Just enough to replenish the humidity in the air. Then the mosquitoes would attack.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I get the rare opportunity for a vacation like this, I take pictures. Pictures on the way, while there, and on the way back. I didn't know how many photos until yesterday. I shot 1,264 photos of the trip, thanks to digital cameras. Who's got time for a slideshow presentation? Should only take about 2 hours to watch..:biggrin_2559:. I might have it ready by this time next year. Yep, I love photography.

Suppose to mow our yard today, that got neglected this past week. Probably not going to happen. When we left last week, it had not rained in at least a couple of weeks. Once we left, in moved the rain. Flash flood warnings in the area now, and it's currently raining. So I guess next time we get into a drought, the easy remedy is to pack up the car and leave for a week.

So after taking a week long break from truckin', and driving 2,700+ miles, I go back to driving tomorrow. Oh we did get caught in a traffic jam on I-75, NB, at the "Rarity Mountain Road" exit. Some 4 wheeler pulling a travel trailer, slammed into the concrete barrier, losing the trailer. It was about 100 ft on up the highway. So we killed time by jumping off there, and grabbing some photos. Later I learned that Rarity Mountain was a failed real estate development project. At least the people got a nice interchange, and sign there. Anyway about 1-1/2 hrs later we managed to get through, and they still didn't have it cleared.

I had one incident where I called in a driver to his company. This idiot was riding my bumper, at 75+ mph. He would not back off. I "brake checked" and he still persisted. I was in the hammer lane, and could not get over for a long while. When I did manage to change lanes, he pulled along side and rode there for a few miles. Wife was worried that he would try to run us off the road, so I placed a call. I got an answering service (voice mail), and did leave a message. It wasn't until the next morning that I got a return call, advising that they would take care of it, and have a talk with that driver. I figured I would give the driver the benefit of not having to deal with DOT..

Gorgeous photos, Eaton. You're little granddaughter is adorable. Yep, she'll be breaking all the boys' hearts. I'm so happy for you and your family getting to spend precious time together. Thanks for sharing with us.
