Waiting on US Foods to quit foolin' around and actually get around to doing some work. They've been back there twice maybe, in an hour. GRRR!

None of the loads out of Fargo worked for when I need to be home so I am on a bus. A very full bus. With about 2/3rds of a seat and a wire poking me in the ### and stopping every 30 miles (or so it seems).
I miss my truck. -
Zen... I wish you well... these Greyhound trips are awful IMO. I did one once and will not do another (if it's over 2 hrs)
You are very brave. I guess you will need some good rest after it.... Best luck to you in your new job.

Another yet unproductive day, ie; wasted
I was told by dispatch to load and then take the truck to KW in Emporia. I questioned this, since it's going to be in the shop, and they simply don't like trailers attached, especially these rock buckets. Well got the KW shop, and the first question out of the mechanic's mouth, "Do you have a trailer on?". I told him yep and it's loaded. Boy he just wanted to explode. He snapped back, I don't even want to mess with it then. I later found out that he specifically requested the tractor only, no trailer.
Met a friend there, a former O/O driver, that recently retired, selling his rig. We went to some places in town, then to lunch. He has an older 359, that he's restoring and going to put a dump bed on it (10 wheeler type), to use around his farm. I learned that the company made the decision easy for him to retire. They wanted to put a people-net/elog in his truck. Not going to happen. He had a very, very sharp rig, and wasn't about to have a black box put in it.
Returning from lunch, ( I had been at KW since 8:30am), they were still trouble-shooting it. Still would not regen after replacing the IR head, and doing some other stuff. So I informed dispatch, and the owner's wife picked me up, and brought me back to the yard so I could go home. So I wasted a day sitting there, no pay. I told the mechanic that if he needs to pull the truck out and a place to park it, both the rivers around in Emporia are running full, so there should be plenty of space to park it..
Well I guess I'll wait and see if they get it fixed and am able to drive tomorrow or if it will be yet another day or 2. IF so, then this entire week is shot. Not what I needed now. Oh well...Giggles the Original Thanks this. -

What a way to return from vacation, Eaton. From what I've been hearing the roads down south are having some real flooding issues.
Our driver headed to Rolla tonight may or may not make it. Another driver said most of the roads leading in are closed due to flooding. It was decided to send him to the 2nd stop 1st and wait until morning to see how Rolla was doing.Eaton18 Thanks this. -
I FEEL for ya Eaton! What a bummer!
I rolled in 18:37 to homemade Enchiladas! I did 4 today. One probably 4 or 5 times better pay than the minimum the second one did. Then took the trailer for 5 pallets (but only 4 fit the first time) and took 4000# of scrap Aluminum to Proler on Hirsch St. Then when I went back I was supposed to get stuff to take to a heat treater But instead took pallet number 5 back to Proler. That 4000 one should have made today at least a $100 day. -
truckon Thanks this.
