Kent, WA...waiting for the parking lot called I-5 to clear a bit before heading south. Not in an rush to go down to Weed and take a break in that smoke from 14+ fires (all lightning starts they say)...CA 97 and CA 89 are closed because of fires, but they are/did get some rain in the area yesterday and day before so that helped.

I figured there were times you just couldn't avoid the tolls, but I had to give you a little bit of a rough time about it, or you might think I didn't like ya.

So. After a bit of more waiting time they called and asked if British Air took Credit cards. When I said no Tom said "would you go ahead and pay and get a receipt and we'll take care of you". Yeah right I'm thinking. But I paid.
When they loaded the truck the left rear tire was low again.
So I went to where I knew I could get it fixed. And paid $20.

Somewhere in there he sent pick up FMC Hardy 1 pallet 145#.
So when I left the drop I went to get that. Then to Murphy where it turned out to be Hazmat with the goofiest red stripe paperwork I ever saw.
So off to Korean Air I go. Took almost an hour to get rejected for paperwork and box markings. While I was in there he sent pick up Score Valve and Murphy.
Score for SDV and Murphy for United.
So when I went to take the rejected back to Murphy I got the United.
It went fast for them. 15 minutes.
Then ran out W. Little York to nearly BW8 to get a 5# carton.
Then tried every trick in the book to get to SDV before 5.
Got there 4:45. Started home 5:15. Stopped for Sugar in New Caney.
Walked in 6:25. Had chicken pot pie (not as good as the Chicken Enchiladas last night!)
A little TV before bedtime again.

By the way. The mechanic test drove my truck and says it is ok.
So my hope is to get to the office, get reimbursed for British Air and the tire repair and get back in MY truck in the morning!

I'm at a rest area in TN... Left co. warehouse at 3 am this morning and headed north on I-65... Around 6 or 6:30 am passed by the tragic accident that killed a firefighter in KY today... read more here http://18-Wheeler Slams Into Fire Truck; One Firefighter Killed :biggrin_2557::biggrin_2557: The traffic jam was from exit 88 up to 96 at that time....

Was loaded in IN and then took the same route back south... Stopped at Pilot in Lebanon Junction to know more about the road as I saw many firetrucks holding HUGE American flags on overpasses and procession of firetrucks and police cars and others everywhere...

Was told that the road was cleared around 15:00... Drove by the location where the accident happened and saw the marks on the ground where firefighters were struck... one died at the scene and his mother, also firefighter is in critical condition at hospital... VERY SAD... VERY VERY SAD.... :biggrin_2557::biggrin_2557::biggrin_2557: Prayers to all involved.... RIP firefighter Jonathan French...
