Tuesday, I was on I29 N just before the Love's at Exit 50 when a HyVee truck I'd been watching in my mirror got almost on my bumper then passed. His rear tandems were about the front bumper of my car when I saw his signal light and he started coming right back in to my lane. I hit my brakes to keep from getting hit. He weaved over onto the shoulder, then pulled back, then started crossing the center line, then back to the shoulder. He slowed down a little and I thought he was going to pull off for Loves. He passed by it, so I passed him and got his truck number and trailer. I called HyVee and reported him.

I told the guy I talked with at HyVee that I didn't want to get anybody in trouble and I know they are trying to make a living the same as anybody else, but I didn't want to see someone innocent or the driver, get hurt.

That scared the beejeebers outta me. I will give him credit that when I passed and he saw hubby looking at his truck and writing down the truck number, he did slow down and he kept it in his lane better.

I'd much rather rely on my own instinct and paying attention, rather than depend on something telling me something is too close. If I had looked away for any reason, most likely I would have been hit. Everybody should be paying attention, rather than having a device tell them there could be a problem.

Thankful for? Well I guess so. There was alot of give and take in this deal, I gave and they took.:biggrin_25526:
I like to keep my tenant happy, she has been there for 5 years and before that her sister was my tenant, both paid there rent before there due date and there has been times when I was out a week or so passed the due date and they would call to remind me to pick up the rent money.

As far as the drive train, after taking out and putting the drive shift in by myself I was one hot mofo and was only thinking it could be worse...........it could been winter time cold and snow on the ground and the beer wouldn't taste near as good!:biggrin_2559:

Ohio loaded for Laredo, Tx. I think.

Les: anywhere between 20 and 50 feet depending on speeds and how abruptly the passing vehicle jumps in front.

Mine was too sensitive. I hated it. Another annoying thing it did was, if I had my cruise on, and another vehicle was in front of me going slower, it would slow my speed to whatever the leading vehicle was doing. Almost like somebody else was driving the truck and all I did was turn the wheel.

If the forward radar was installed so it would notify but not interfere with operation of the truck, it would be a good thing. I didn't mind the beeps and knowing 400 feet back how fast that other vehicle was going. It was those little "takeovers" of operation that irritated me.

So glad Swift doesn't rely on gadgets as much as Prime does.

Ya, good pointe there, thing is, I'm still on Amish time, hopefully they're making some chips for me today so I can turn and burn.
I'd hate to have another sacrifice tonight, as it is, the dogs are staying away from me.:biggrin_25521:

thats nothing, my Vorad detects anything within 100 yards of the front of my truck and will start slowing me down if im on the cruise, if anything gets within 50 yards the Jake comes on full power even if i have it turned off! also within 25yards itll beep and make all kinds of noise.

BUT all of this is avoided except the beeping by puting your foot on the fuel....so its all pointless:biggrin_2559:

Only 50+/- of our trucks have it, and they no longer spec trucks with it for ovious safety issues....

Mine also has the Blind spot radar, all it does is turn a little LED light on the passenger side pillar Red if someone is along side the right side of the tractor....
