The shiny one just got a little cosmetic work done: new handlebars, new tank with a very nice custom paint job and a complete polish by hand. This winter, it will be time to retire that old frame and get a new one. Not much will change. The rake will remain the same. The current frame seems like it has more weld repairs than original metal. We have new pans and a gasket kit to do an overhaul while the new frame and the fenders are in for paint. She's getting pretier every day.

As for the other girl, she is my pride and joy. She will be graduating this winter with her Associate's Degree. She has taken some very tough classes and will be fully ASE certified for both diesel and gasoline engines and every part between the bumpers of both autos and trucks. She's talking about getting her certs for motorcycles as well. I know just the guy to train her on HDs. Best wrench I've ever seen.

As for deciding? I don't think I can decide and I know them both very well.

    .............................................

A side note to Les. If I was talking about my own issues with your buddies, I would have addressed them directly, as i have in the past. I have never hidden behind moderators and reports. I have only ever reported three posts directed at me...none of which were sent by you or your friends.

I don't care how "old" you think my comments are about some schmuck who gets his jollies trying to make my life difficult. I don't care whether you believe it or not. I don't care that you're still letting yourself be Redd's mouthpiece. In fact, about the only thing I care about with regard to you and your pals any more is setting your teeth on edge by doing well with Swift. Did I mention I'm getting $1,980 for running 1,850 miles last week? That would be money in my pocket, after all expenses. Did I mention further that I'm not going broke, being forced to do things I don't want to, not working my tail to a nub, getting home every week, able to take a whole week...I mean month....off without losing anything or even going in the hole? It must really bug you that I'm blowing your whole "terrible big company p***ing on all its drivers" theory out of the water. But that's perfectly okay with me. I find it amusing to watch you sputter while I and others prove you wrong at every turn. And not just with Swift, either.

I was talking about the general bullying toward everybody. The entire forum was dragged down by it. I'm glad it's over.

I am helping a good friend of mine move everything on his bike over to a new frame this winter. It is going to be the first harley I have worked on. I have never rode one.

Look on the bright side, if your girl becomes a diesel tech she will have plenty of large wrenches you can use to keep the boys at bay ;)

as far as drama, I hadn't seen what the latest go around on the site was, but it doesn't matter, you are always going to find some where ever you go, it is an unfortunate reality of the human existence.

No. It's not. The first time I brought it up was when someone I considered a friend posted about an intention to cheat. He was later fired for cheating. I doubt posting about it had any correlation to the later firing, but you never know.

Sometimes we get comfortable here, and forget that anyone at all could be watching. I bring up a reminder now and then. So what if I'm out of line! I consider it a friendly thing to do to warn someone when something they do could lead to negative results. Kinda like if a stranger were to step off a curb without looking- I'd yell "look out for that car!" See? They don't have to listen, but I'm gonna yell it anyway. Whether it's my business or not.

Hey injun, from my perspective and 30 plus years of turning wrenches on cars and trucks and if i had it to do over again and would have stuck with diesel mechanics-no money in cars anymore and everyone treats you worse than dirt.I was a team leader at a big toyota dealership and made 35k the last year and insurance was costing me 8 bills a month and 6 days a week and 9 hrs. a day just not worth it to me.

...and diesel mechanics go home at 5 PM every night. Especially if you have a hot load and a broken truck!
