I would imagine being a diesel tech works the same as being a driver- start in the low level low paying jobs no one wants, then work up to something better as you get experience. Isn't that how any industry works?

It would be great to see her get into trucking maintenance. I see so very few ladies working on the big trucks. Let's bust another one of those glass ceilings.

    Jolsen and Injun Thank this.

Also auto techs work on what they call a flat rate of whatever they hire a newb at which depends, but somewhere at or around 8 bucks a hour and if she only turns 4 hrs. a day, that's 4x8 and changing oil and doing tire rotations which is low level for sure possible 6 months on a "quick lube team" or less if the skills are there and then on to a team to be a "d" tech doing the less desirable jobs and paying the dues.

Heck I'd let her work on my baby but I might catch a sexual harassment charge with the bike from giving it complements and trying to look under its fender :biggrin_25523:

I know better then to make passes at the females. My mom taught me long time ago its ok to look at pretty but ...

Yeh....that one is like her mother: not afraid to stick up for herself. No withering pansy there. She's equally at home surrounded by grizzled bikers as she is wearing a formal gown to a social function. And she looks cute as heck doing both. Uh....the girl. Not the bike...

I find that is one of the reasons to get into a parking spot early....so you can watch the entertainment.

Currently sitting on the on-ramp from Hampton Ave. to I-44 South in St. Louis. Blew a trailer tire. Headed to Dallas....have to drop by 1100 Monday, so I'm not pressed for time.

Just irritating when you do your PTIs and stuff happens anyway...such is the truckin' world....
