Don't lock the truck and you won't have to worry about it.

Find a place to hide your key in the engine compartment. I have a tinny little box with a magnet where I put my car keys in an hide that under my vehicle. And I put the truck key in a string around my neck. Use that as a soldier from the time I wake up till I go to bed... and take it off for shower too.
After locking myself twice outside the truck I learned my lesson. And one of those times, I was bobtailling in Long Beach, CA, running errands, window shopping, etc. (without company knowing much less company's permission...) Had to use a store phone and called AAA (which I am a member of) to open truck's door. It was the first time the guy opened a big truck's door.... I learned my lesson since then. :yes2557:

I used to leave a key in the truck ignition, but after watching how thieves can open truck door so quickly, now I take that key with me every time I leave truck... even if it's for a few mins. :yes2557: I'm in the extended stay hotel, Chattanooga, Tn enjoying the last days of my "hometime". Will p/up load on Tuesday 2:30 hrs far from here, then go to Wisconsin, then p/up another load 2:30 hrs from consignee and deliver in OH. :biggrin_25519:

Response to Les "Don't lock it."

I tried that. I still got locked out. AJ saw another dog, got all excited and stepped on the button. Luckily, I was at an apple warehouse full of felons. It was just a matter of finding the right one. 30 seconds and he had my door open without a scratch. It was impressive.

You a driver down-under? If so do you have hours of service restrictions?

Ah, Troutville. The smallest Pilot in the world. I think it used to be a 50's drive-in diner. What a circus. Funny, there are more open parking spots there than across the street at the TA.:biggrin_25525:
