If you ever run US-59 in Texas the Champion Truck Stop a little south of Shepherd and the two stops a little north of Goodrich usually have parking. Champion never gets full as far as I can tell.

Inside those places is another thing!

Anyhow if you roost at either one let me know. I can perhaps meet you and run you into Cleveland or Livingston for shopping.

It's been in the mid teens here in the mornings........Brrr. The Lenexa area had a light dusting of snow, but nothing at home. East of KC sounded like they had quite a few slick roads. Funny how many accidents there were around the KC area this morning, and almost all those involved said it was slicker than they thought it would be :biggrin_25521:

Rant Time: Yesterday, in a Pilot at the 204 on 71 South in Ohio...Pull into a jammed fuel isle.....Decide #1 or 2 are most likely next to open up. First, lazy tanker driver has far left jammed, because he is special and can park anywhere (not a J or Pilot tanker, looked like a sewer hauler). Next, as I am sitting behind a Knight Van hauler with no one parked in front of him beyond the pump......#1 has one at the isle and one beyond. The one beyond departs.....still have Knight at #2 with no activety.....then a few minutes later the driver and #1 departs. I move to #1 and fuel, Knight driver saunters, and I do mean ...... saunters out to his tractor and climbs in and does some back and forth between the sleeper and tractor. I give him....a:biggrin_25510:, but it does not phase his activity (or actually, the lack THEREOF!).
Finished fueling, I pull forward and proceed inside. As I entered the Club House, I spied the Manager and Inquired, "Is fuel island 18 operational?". He responded, "Yes, why? I informed him of the Knight Transport Truck not fueling, while parked in a fuel island and not even up to where the hoses could reach his tanks for now...at least 20 minutes.
He made a bee line to the fuel island. I went to Wendy's and obtained lunch to go. As I came back outside the Knight Transport truck was finally moving out of the fuel lane, never having fueled during my visit. Thank you to the Pilot manager and POOH to the driver.
Question, I took a photo of this tractor on my phone. Should I have..1) Approached this driver and confronted his behavior? 2) Contact Knight Transport now to report his behavior or never do anything and 3) Ignore this like everyone else seems to do an ongoing basis as this is just normal trucking behavior?:biggrin_25510:

If you have the moxie, approach the driver. If you call Knight, you will get some office geek who will say, ":biggrin_25518: So, what?" Otherwise, you did the right thing. Or, ignore it and go on about your day.

All I hear is rain. Really, I'm probably too far south to hear what you were hearing. Knight is off exit 52, GM is off exit 44.

This Love's up on a hill in VA. I'm going to wait for the rain/fog/snow to move through WV before trekking up that way tomorrow.

..I also had my fill of scenic NC back roads today....in the rain.
