Laredo it is then....until Tuesday morning. Oh well, it's a nice enough terminal and I'm not the only driver staying for the weekend.
Somebody tell me what there is to do and see in Laredo. None of those "out of the way" places, not interested. Rent a car....OK, then what? Hep me!!!!!!

What was it about the "Hep me" that you didn't catch!

Mr. OBGYN: Of all the times I've been in Laredo, I have always just holed up at the TA since there's security there and it's a gated area. I have never wanted to take in the sights of Laredo. Unfortunately, though, Prime's drop yard (well, there are two of them) one is toward the airport. Not too bad, just dusty. The other is north on that highway that skirts the border and just on the west end of that toll road. I was southbound on that road in September last year and caught a stray bullet from across the border right in the center of my passenger side windshield. Heard this huge CRACK!!! and suddenly had a big chip on that side. No trucks or cars anywhere within a half mile of me on either side of the road. I refused every load going there since then.
I tell you this because you might want to think again about seeing the "sights" in Laredo. Listen to the radio. Doc takes people across to Boystown in the evenings. He's American, but lives in Mexico. And knows his way around. Last time I was there, I asked whether he did day shopping trips too. He said yes, but arrangements have to be made ahead. He knows the safe places to go. Talk to him if you can. I haven't gone back since I caught that bullet. Don't want to either.JustSonny Thanks this.
