Pocola, Ok at a little gas station with a deli..

only reason i stopped was because i needed somewhere to park and i saw another truck sitting here.. but i believe the driver lives in the neighborhood directly behind the gas station. there's a bar b q joint next to me but unluckly it's closed, good news is the deli is all home made stuff, none of that sysco/ us food service or sams club stuff. finally found a meat pie, been so curious about these things every since i read one of Injun's post.. come to find out that what she calls a "meat pie" is what i call a "beef pattie". regional/cultural differences at it's best.

Day started in Muskogee, Ok... dead headed to Ft. Smith, Ar to get an empty from a customer, customer wouldn't let one go, called dispatch and told them what the deal was, and they said they'll work something out.. a couple of hours later i get told to dead head to Bentville, Ar (sp) to get an empty from Wally World HQ!!! get there and can't find the empty, go into traffic office and ask about it.. Lady says it's still in a door will be done in a few.. i sat across from it for about an hour before the light turned green.. yard jocky was there in like six seconds to pull it out for me.. hook too it and book.. skitty part is that i was supposed to live load in Ft. Smith, Ar at 1300loc.. missed it, didn't get there till 1600loc, workers were gone, couldn't load.. Guard said i can drop in door and they will load first thing in morning. so now i sit.. got a PO for the hours i burnt watchin movies and dispatch had to redo the routing so i could get the miles for the dead head to wally world and back.

Know what you mean. Down in SE Cali. There aren't any TS's close by so I spotted some equipment parked next at a diesel stop. Realized not a regular TS, so I went in and asked if there was one available as the lot actually belonged to a trailer repair facility next door. The propietor said he knows the owner would have no problem for a 10 hour visit. OH SO QUIET. A few trucks have slid by, but did not take the time to inquire. I made sure the store got my business. Some pretty tasty oriental items. Change from fried burritos.:biggrin_25520:

Breezewood PA... a little short on time, but will make my delivery appointment ok. Prespotted trailer for a drop n' hook didn't get loaded, because the reefer wouldn't start. Methinks its a dead battery. Live load n' off I go...

the driver has to be a little understanding also.. they had my preplan to load in Ft. Smith since yesterday, what dispatch didn't know was that Georgia Pacific was going to deny me an empty which would put me on the hunt for another. They have a pretty good ideal of where all of our empties are (as long as drivers send in the right micros) but at the same time they don't know if all are available or not.. most that are customers they have to call to see if we can get them or not (most customers reload our empties for outbound) but some customers never reload for outbound (walmart) but they always try to find the closest empty. but when all else fails, walmart is always a sure bet.

the only thing that gets me is that hometime is supposed to be Friday Sat, Sun.. but since i wont load till tomorrow, it'll most likely be Sat, Sun, Mon.. but it's what ever, no need for me to get all fiery about it.. cause it could always be worse.. i could be stuck in Wy with a broke down truck and a rat hole hotel to stay in with no cable, and a heater that works when it wants, and pizza delivery that has never heard the phrase "thirty mins or less".... either way i'm gettin my black tushy home.. i have a couch, xbox and wife who are all dieing for my attention, and the three are going to get it in that order.:biggrin_25522:
