Chain, or sit. That is the question. Hanging metal is not all that bad. I know old school can drive without them, but unfortunately there are a lot of unskilled drivers that think they can. Nuff said. I will hang to get home, but I do not like it.![]()

Nobody "likes" it...But I won't park a load when all I have to do is put on a few chains and go.
I said it before and I'll say it again....
"My freight don't wait!"
When I started in this business I ran the 11 western states and mostly Oregon, Washington, California and Nevada...If I would have stopped every time we needed to hang iron I'd have gone broke before I was 25 years old.
But I'd rather have the drivers that can't handle snow parked in the T/S than out here layed over in the ditch and slowing me down.JimBob24, striker and corneileous Thank this. -
snow isnt the problem, chaining isnt the problem, its the place they expect you to do it, plus the inexper. drivers, we have ran coast to coast and canada for our entire career...and ran in many a blizzards....and will again no doubt....not that i know it all, but its not me i worry about....

Yep, I agree with you on that. The argument is that if you remove the meek, do the remaining drivers possess the skill to drive in a potentially harmful environment? DOT wants us to be 172% safe. More or less. I am more cautious than most, but no regrets. Pass me and I will flash my lights or call you clear.

Believe me I know....I'd rather have the inexperienced (with snow and chains) drivers parked when the weather gets bad. -
They gotta get experience somehow and the only way to do that is drive in it. I would rather they drive in it and get some experience before they get a year or two behind them and get ####y.
