:biggrin_25522: I was working off line, on my notes for next year income taxes. :biggrin_2552: Do that everytime I take "hometime" which is every 2 to 3 months. And I feel like a bear in the cave in this hotel room. For some reason thought it was already 19:00 or so.... :biggrin_25526: but it was only 16:00 and it's a bright sunny day out there.... May go back in the truck tomorrow evening (if I have a load to p/up on Sat). Then, same ritual all over again.... Take stuff/ my "office" back to storage, put the rest of stuff in the truck, do shopping, laundry and get ready for my next 2/ 3 months on the road.... I don't like these transitions from "hometime" to back on the road.... Don't know but that always makes me anxious and nervous....

I agree;BUT.(Always a but) they are going to get rid of my beloved 07-and it was starting to act up-I had the choice between a new Volvo or new Pete.:biggrin_2556: "They" were pushing the Volvo...So I took the other one.:biggrin_255: I just hope someone puts a dent into it before I leave while at the shop..
:biggrin_2559: Get that "first one" outta the way......

Newell's in Newton again. Was here last night too. Keep running out of hours, thanks to all the construction along US-50. Almost lost the truck, as in craaaasssshhh!! Dumped my last load, had 1hr to get back east as far as I could. Company (APAC) we've been hauling the rock for, is redoing US-50, west from K-14 Hwy. Well there's a pretty good lip on the edges. Trailer tire dropped off, while I was, well going a tiny bit over 65. Surface was a little slick. Must have had the stereo blasting loud enough for the trailer to hear. It decided it wanted to dance. The only thing I know I done, was hang on to the steering wheel, and had my foot off the gas. It was planted firmly on the floor. Luckily there was no one else around. Whew!!! They'd been laughing their butts off. I know I must have had an expression on my face similar to...:biggrin_2555:. Wished I knew what I done to hang on to it. I may need some new upholstery too..

Whenever I take "hometime" I come to this extended stay hotel. It's a nice place in a quiet nice area. Some folks have been living here for a while. They put their chairs outside their apartments, in the playground area and drink beer and chat and laugh and kids play.... :biggrin_25519: I took a walk, enjoying the hot sunny day... Think will run to Walmart for some fresh fruits. :yes2557:

Nobody commented on my Broken Record post... I'm crushed!

We have another new dispatcher. He SOUNDS better than the other one on the phone.....

Found out where to get the check cashed (for 1%) to avoid the bank (where 9 out of 10 times you'll get rejected).

REALLY need to think about working somewhere else... dang it!

Eaton, take your foot of the go-go juice before the trailer dances. Good to hear you didn't have any bad news about your adventures. I'm guessing you were sucking seat for a while :biggrin_25523::biggrin_25525:

Rocks, sounds like you have a pretty nice place to stay. It's nice to be able to get out and enjoy meeting some folks, and generally relaxing.

Alright Dave, just so you aren't feeling disappointed...............you're beginning to sound like a broken record
:biggrin_2559: Hopefully this dispatcher will be better (though it would be hard to find one as awesome as me).

One of my guys called today and asked me if I needed something to do. Told him I had plenty, and he said he wanted to make sure I didn't have to just sit around on my butt waiting for something to do. I told him I was always there for him to take care of what his QC wouldn't let him do. He used to never joke around, but I'm starting to bring him out of his shell.

Bumpers, thanx for the pic. That is one nice looking ride. How did your workout today work out?
