Hey no problem Lil Bit would probably kill me if i sold it anyway. She has plans for it in the car.
Believe it or not the little midland and the little cobra 19 the really small ones around 40 bucks get out about a mile or 2. When i first started I had one of those and it did me really well until I bought a Cobra 25 off another driver at Celadon. I was relly mad when it fried cause of the truck fire I had in the beginning of June..this year. Wow June was a bad month for me.....![]()

If you had a CB you would get to participate(at least listen in on) in the truckstop garage sale or money raising, and many times, they are selling radios, antennas, inverters, small appliances, etc. You will also hear about other things for sale, and the ever present political bickering.
Pick up something cheap and listen for something better, although I never bought any that way.
I'd look for a PC78 Uniden/ Cobra 29. I like the amber lighting better than green which is why I put Uniden first.
I'm using a 29 Chrome and other than the blue lights, it's the best radio I have ever used right out of the box and I can actually hear the speaker without an external one. It's basically a classic with no weather band and no back lighting. Great reception.rocknroll nik and JustSonny Thank this. -
The 29 is a good all purpose squawk box for sure
JustSonny Thanks this. -
York Ne For the night. Mic-ing baked ziti w/meatballs yummy

Crawfordsville, IN and continuing eastbound.
ONGB: a Cobra 29 is a respectable radio. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Usually, you get a new one and all it needs is a bench tune. I have no need for the giant Conex or Galaxy. If somebody wants to be a jerk and talk over me just to show how big their radio is, then they obviously don't want to talk to me and I turn mine off. Their loss.JustSonny Thanks this. -
Pilot Minooka IL (Nick, please don't tell me I'm somewhere else?
)
Slipped into New Lenox early, dropped/hooked up an MT. Waiting the day out here in Minooka. I ain't got no hrs til' 0001.
Don't want to do a 34. I've got good hours dropping off for the next 6 days so I wanna keep rolling. If I did a 34 I would be here until about 1730 tomorrow afternoon.
Does this make sense? Am I missing some of the "benefit" of a restart? -
Looks like I'm finally getting out of this hotel today thats the good news, bad news is I still have to go to Bridgewater, MA and deliver this load...Apparently Landstar couldn't find any takers to recover it.....bummer

Look at the bright side, oldnewbie, you could be in Laredo

Good to hear you're getting out of there, GP. You would think somebody would give a fella a break and taken that load for ya.
Anybody seen or heard from the hillbilly lately. I haven't seen him around for a while.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
