He sure hasn't been to Lucky (LA) recently. It seems that he's been spending a lot of time in Idle Hour (KY) or Hell's Corner (OH).

I'm home, been here since yesterday afternoon. Spent Wednesday night at a grain elevator in B.F.E., only had left over Taco-Tico tacos to eat that evening, yum, yum. I had not showered for 2 days, and had been soaked with sweat several times. I could not stand myself. Then got to stay Thursday night at Newell's in Newton, where I finally got a shower, and food.

I'm suppose to load for Newton again on Monday, IF they get my truck fixed up. Yep, I dinged one of my stacks, actually bent it back, hitting a grain spout. I knew my stacks were too tall, and thought I was clear of it. Well I wasn't the only one, another driver done the same thing at another elevator. However I'm not going to be surprised if my load gets changed. Another driver is really P****D off with what he's been hauling. It's a real crap load, pays next to nothing, and is just plain messy....cold mix asphalt. He called me when I got in Friday, asking what I was scheduled to haul. I'm starting to see a pattern with him. He gets upset (we all do at some time), then cries to dispatch. Since I'm a newbie, he'll use me as an example, a way to get out of whatever, and I get stuck. I don't like it, but it's what they want hauled.

Now what I don't like is trailer wash-out after hauling this stuff. The company says they will not pay for trailer washouts. Well I guess my trailer is going to have that messy sticky asphalt in it then, because I don't own the rig, and it is not coming out of my pocket to wash that crap out.

Sounds to me like the company has no regard for their equipment and how it looks. Can't say I blame you one bit for not paying out of pocket to keep their equipment clean.

Eaton, sounds like the other driver is like some of ours. Cry and whine to the dispatcher and get their way. I knew it went on, but didn't realize how bad it was until I had to fill in this past week.

I spent a quiet lazy day at home alone. Hubby is enjoying himself at the lake, and my folks will be back to spend the day with me before they head back home tomorrow. We got a little bit of rain during the night, and it looks like a pretty morning.
