Otter, I had the same thing happen in my 03 Dodge. I was humming down TX105 in light rain.
Truck going the other way loaded with rocks/gravel. I see a BIG hunk of rock coming at me.
Tried to hit the floor! Big arse star appeared just out of my sight line.

 

Sitting in the business office of a Hilton Hotel in Greenville, NC, visiting my son and my dad. Heading back to SC later today, and back on the road Monday morning.

 

Lesson learned about break downs, try not to do it over the weekend, and not near a LARGE city.. I sware half of Canada came across the border to spend the weekend in Buffalo. Tried to get two more nights in the room (Pete said the truck wont be ready until Monday), lady at the front desk said they're all booked.. Called the Hotel reservation hotline to see if they could find me a room.. Only thing i could get near the shop was expensive as all hell..... So there goes my oxygen sensors for my pickup i was going to buy next week.
