You shouldn't have to do the written test or the road test. Just toss em your old plastic, take the eye exam, & your haxmat test it all you gotta do

This simple little drop/hook at a WM DC has turned out to be not so simple but, as I've learned, that's just the way it goes. After several unintended delays, I finally got to Harrisonville about 2230 last night. Yesterday afternoon, while I was stopped for a quick break in Hannibal, I came close to PMing you to see if you could meet me at the Love's in St Joe. I could've stayed on 36 instead of dropping down at Cameron, but, I decided that doing that would put me at risk of being late so, goshdarnit, I missed an opportunity to meet up with the forum's teddy bear. I'm still waiting for a plan so, who knows, maybe I'll be headed through St Joe. If so, I'll be in touch!:biggrin_25525:

Not to worry, hon. I know the load comes first. Just remember if you are ever in the area, and I'm around, I'd consider it an honor to meet you. And if you have an overnight, I'd be more than happy to pick you up and bring you to the house for a meal and a place to stay.

    JustSonny Thanks this.

Nope...not that simple. I went in with my MI CDL, TWIC, Military ID card and Social Security card. The lady asked for a certified copy of my birth certificate and when I couldn't provide it, she looked at me like she was ready to dial up ICE. Meanwhile, the Spanish-only-speaking person ahead of me breezed through with a green card. Go figure.

So, for now, I guess I am conscripted to remain an unwilling citizen of Michigan. I'm tired of being a Michigander!

that sux sorry too read that, they are a real PIA when it comes to the birth certificate.....when I came back to Landstar I had to renew my hazmat and went thru the same nonsense, I ended up having to drive an hour to my birth city just for a certified copy.....and New York wonders why everyone is leaving this state..

Oh, yeah....and I have to take all the written tests: General Knowledge Driver License, General Knowledge CDL, Combinaton Vehicles, Air Brake, Doubles/Triples, Tanks, Hazmat and Motorcycle.

I'm sure they'll think up something else before I'm done. Grrrrrr!:biggrin_25510:
