I was in Wharton, TX today and actually for long enough that I might have gotten online. I took 3K down there, and brought about 4K back up to NEAR where I started from.

Should make the check for THIS week look a little better.....

I am at this small fuel station in VA. Dirt parking lot is empty. Nobody here but me. It seems this is going to be a very quiet night... :yes2557::biggrin_25518:

That is another reason not to deal with the "Walmart Fleet". Assistant Managers. In 6 mos part time, I had 6 different ones. 4 from Circuit City after they closed their doors. I was "competitive" for Management due to history...and WM was suppose to "Hire from within."; but never even got an interview. The assistant managers came and went and to a person....had no clue. The if you add an ego and an attitude.....parking nazies. Old Sam must be rolling over in his grave.:-(

Hahahah... Mr. TPete... I do a lot of "research" during my trip planning to find places to park for my breaks and optimize my hrs. This US road in VA where I am now has a few... or a couple of "obscure" places to park a truck. I am about 30 mins from shipper I am going tomorrow morning. They told me there is a truck stop near them but it costs to park... and no way I would pay for parking... :biggrin_25512: Was going to park at shipper overnight... but here is better. Bathroom is outside store, a few yards from truck... Bought my milk, will buy ice tomorrow and will sleep in silence....
And you know one more thing? It takes (for a rookie like me) a lot of time to come up with all my parking options for my trips but it's somehow fun and I enjoy going to these old truck stops, and "obscure" places... It's better than Flying Js and Pilots and TAs... packed with noisy trucks... I always get worried that someone will block me or will hit the truck and the smell of cigarette from the driver smoking next to my window... :biggrin_25510: The only advantage of Pilot's and FJs is the shower...

Are you working in the breakdown dept. now or was this function added to what you were already doing before?

It was added on to my other duties when the other person in the office left. He took care of all the maintenance and ordering supplies. Today I am the dispatcher on top of my other duties. One thing I like about this job, we all wear different hats; when one person needs off, the other 2 take over and do their job, also. Today I'm going in at 0430 and will hopefully be off about 1330.

I do love seeing/hearing about all your obscure parking spots. They always seem out of the way and for the most part, completely unknown about. You really do your research.
