personally i like the loves down at exit 89 much quieter even quieter yet is the little gas station on other side of the highway at the same exit
a perfect "Rocks " spot -
I do too...but it seems that every time I'm running that stretch, the Pilot is my mandated fuel stop. We also deliver quite a bit right around the corner from there, so I tend to end up at the Pilot to grab a shower and some sleep.

I've spent the last day or so basically blowin it off--but as someone who spent most of his life in Fla(born-raised)I figured another nasty thunderstorm for a day or so--but Today I paid attention--this thing is gonna be a PROBLEM---It's too #### big--It's too #### slow--it's kicking TS winds 500 miles out--and at this point it is almost certainly going to land somewhere on the Central jersey coast takin her sweet #### time--it has already started pushin water strong to the NE side--which for all intents and purposes is straight up the HUDSON--it really does have the potential to be one of those Weather Channel Doc's worse case scenario deals......Your talking about areas where LOTS of people live--who don't have a lot of options--
But for the area the real problem is going to be the very prolong rain and winds--So I am no longer blowin this one off--like I had been--and I have been thru a bunch of nasty ones over the years at home and never really cared.
$Just my $.02teddy_bear6506, 48Packard and Cranky Yankee Thank this. -
i'm not putting too much worry into it. It's only a Cat1 right now, get's any slower and it's gonna be another Tropical Storm (which i'm sure they'll then compare it to the last one the NE had some months back). But seeing how it's almost (pretty much) in cold waters it's just going to slow down, and if it doesn't make land fall it wont have a funnel for long. I remember when Cat4's would hit the east coast of Florida and be a tropical storm once it made it to the gulf of mexico..
I know the NJ Port Authority is taking it something serious.. They closed the port so now i'm hanging out in New Milford, Pa because i can't load until possibly Tuesday. -
As I tried to get across before--this is an entirely different beast than a typical hurricane--in fact forget the tv folks--just think of it as a massive slow moving low pressure system--and in this area a massive slow moving noreaster--now imagine it is January and not October and temps are 20 degrees colder--and the kind of massive mess that causes--
But this link that I posted elsewhere really tells the story--regional freight companies in the NE don't shut down---

Yeah Ill do it! Just got back from helpin neighbor with his Guernseys--gettin ugly--hospital in NY called reminded us NOT to head up until it is safe--wanted to tell them to late--Im on my way--but lady seemed so nice! LOL
Meanwhile speakin of Orlando--my wonderful 80 Mom called and suggested We come home to Florida--to wait out the Hurricane in PA! Gotta love it!
Well it wouldn't be a REAL HURRICANE PARTY W/OUT GUMBO!!!!
So off to the kitchen I go! While I still got power!
Be careful y'allFlip Flops Thanks this. -
New Milford, Pa...got WIND, some rain, none the less, that's bout it.. dispatch shut all the trucks down before heading into Jersery because another driver that was already sitting at the port said the Port Authority was going to kick everyone off the port at midnight.
