No MAJOR wish to reach through the phone today but a few incidents that could have gone that way.
A nearly top secret pickup that I finally got a name of the place for.
And being sent to what I THOUGHT was Beechnut St. off BW8. Given a phone number that was for the wrong guy at the wrong place. Then a number for a Lady also not where I was going. Finally just in time to make the exit I found out it was a location I knew about. Got in and out quick!
Fought a BUNCH of traffic back over to the airport and ditched a box I picked up before the Beltway oddesy.

    Rolled in just about 20:00.

Was supposed to be 290 and 8 by 8am. Then she said just get it to SDV before 12.
So I'm going to drop today's run first at 08:15ish than after the morning crush lets up go get the load.

Is Halloween tonight? I don't even know.... well... it doesn't matter anyway... :biggrin_2559: This place is a little obscure.... I was going to try to find a parking spot at FJ in Jackson, Ga but at 20:30... I thought, hmmmm..... :biggrin_25512: it may be congested, I am not good backer, much less in the dark, all those impatient truck drivers make me nervous when I am trying to back, and my tandems are slid almost all the way to the front cause I didn't have time to adjust them and that just makes it a little more difficult for me to do a good backing... Anyway, I decided to park at this very small BP station just 20 mins south of FJ. It has a dirt lot in the back and it was very very quiet when I arrived.... Now there are 3 or so trucks and one is idling. This place stays open 24/7. Unfortunately no picture this time. When I got here it was already dark and when I leave in the morning it will be still dark. The moon is pretty here tonight... :yes2557:

Back at the house after today's NYC sojurn--amazin how much better time you can make w/out all those left lane restrictions--LOL
On a serious note very weird to be in upper manhattan today where everything seemed perfectly normal--and knowing that in just about every direction within minutes of where we were--people were going thru such a horrible hardship--
Wife's pre-op tests all good--big heart surgery now a go for next monday am---

    So far this week as been an S.O.S. (Same Old Stuff) week. Haul screenings out, haul beans back, to and from the same places. Monday had truck in the shop for oil change. That ended up being;
    • Oil Change
    • Replace Left-Front Shock (was leaking and bushing shot)
    • Replace Left-Front steer tire
    • Replace both right rear trailer tires
    • Replace right rear brakes
    • Replace steering wheel tilt pedal/cable.
So needless to say I got a real late start.

Today managed to get back early enough to pre-load for tomorrow. May leave early in the morning to see if the S.O.S. will continue. If so, I could finish the day at around noon or 1pm.

Just got to Nephi UT, stopped in Fort Hall ID on the way down to shoot the breeze with one of the company drivers on his way north. Amazing how quick 2 hours goes when chatting away! Today was just the way I like it, uneventfull! Just sat there and burned the miles away, no traffic ( MT , ID and UT no surprise there LOL), nice weather and good songs on the radio.
