Being nice to drivers gets you nowhere. I've always made sure if the drivers call to pick their load up early, it's in the basket at the guard shack. I do it for them even if they don't call and ask. I've been doing it for one driver for months. Yesterday, I had him scheduled for the 3rd time to get his PM done. He waits until 1400 to call and say he can't do his delivery, get his PM done, and do his next load. I talk to the boss, he said have him do his loads and reschedule the PM. When the driver gets there he says "so the load is more important than safety. Today is the last day in the window to get the PM done. I kindly told him that "no, the window is the 20th". He said then schedule it for next week. I told him I was planning for him to be at FL this morning. He says, "Oh, so instead of staying in a hotel room, you're gong to make me sit at FL for my 10." Then he asked if my ribs were still hurting and told him yes. He said "good, I hope you cough all night and don't get any sleep and they hurt worse tomorrow".

His days of me putting his load out early so he can be home an extra day just ended,

He will really be happy now. I told him he needed to go to the St Louis OC and get his PM done :smt096

 

i hope your ribs get better but you do know most of us on here are drivers right?

mine told me yesterday i was gonna go pick up a ready drop and hook
get here and it is a live load not coming out till noon
another 14 clicking away

Sigh. I am sitting parked in front of the trailer at the truck stop.
Dropped a 302# box at 09:21 and nothing since. REALLY reminds me of PAM....
