Rocks, just curious if your company gives you an idle bonus? My gawd girl, I get cold just reading your posts. No way should you have to rush to your blankets and freeze like you do. Your another one who I truly hope the company recognizes what they got. :biggrin_255:

The difficulty level keeps increasing. Yesterday I delivered to another landscaping company in KCMO. This was on Green Hills Dr, off of SR-152. Here's some screenshots from Google Maps. It didn't look this way yesterday, they've added fuel pumps and a lot of those pesky vehicles strategically parked in your way, oh and all the snow and ice.

Here's what the street looks like. It's a down-hill grade, add some snow and ice to this.

Here's an overview of the business..

I added some graphics to more accurately reflect what I was dealing with

I had to blind-side back into that salt bin. It was another one of those that you could not squeeze between the trailer and bin walls. The worker told me they setup the bins for 10-wheeler dump trucks, not 18-wheeler dump trucks. It just amazes me business have these types of setups yet order loads knowing it's going to be delivered by big-trucks.

Ok after dumping I had to get turned around in the area in the top of the photo. I had to jack-knife to get turned around, nearly placing the back of the cab against my trailer. I said nearly... one of them "Missed it by that much" things.

I think I'm getting better, because it only took me 6 tries (pull-ups and backing) to get my trailer backed into that bin. After dumping dispatch sent a truck-wide message asking for volunteers to work today. I called and declined. He sound p****d off. Said I don't need any excuses, just yes or no. I tried to tell him that it was my weekend with my granddaughter. He just repeated what he said. Tough, there's one thing that takes priority over everything, and it's not hauling rock, dirt, or salt around for chump change. Other drivers have said that trying to get loaded on a weekend at Lyons is an all day affair. Not that there's a lot of trucks, just they have a skeleton crew, and it just takes forever to get loaded. One driver has tried that in the past, and sat all day and didn't get but one load.

Was bounced from KCMO to Lyons to pre-load for Monday. Yep another landscaping company. Just can't wait to see what this was is going to be like. I may have to order a crane to lift my truck into place then rotate it into position. :biggrin_2559:

Anyway I'm home for the weekend. We have our granddaughter, and will try and enjoy the snow. Wife picked her up yesterday, and when they arrived home, wife and granddaughter shoveled the sidewalks. Granddaughter tried to convince grandma she could do it herself, that grandma didn't need to be doing that. Gotta' love her, and dislike at the same time. She's growing up waaaaay tooo fast!!!

At home for a few hours to see the kids. I had a 04:00 delivery Monday in Fargo but the dispatcher told me he'd have a local guy deliver it. I think I'm in love. LOL

A nicer than average dispatcher I'd say....

I'd bet SOMEBODY is upset because I have an item on my trailer that they would have liked delivered today.....
