HEY, HEY, HEY!! Got a clean level II roadside vehicle inspection today!!!At the Idaho port of entrance... Officer said when he entered my company's name in his system, it showed very high score on the CSA... almost 90!!
Yes... I already know that... And said the best way to lower that would be with an inspection... Yeah, right...
The officer checked my hrs on my elog, all my paperwork, documentation, walked around, checked all lights, ABS light, tires, control panel, defroster, windshield wipers, did an air brake system inspection... At the end he said that was "boring" cause there was nothing wrong....
I asked him if he could see my CSA score in his system... It took him some time... He told me I had zero points... Said I wasn't even in the system...
What!? I thanked him but I don't believe it... What about the violation I got on Dec/11 for one headlight out while I was in transit??
Anyway, I am done for today... Parked at this Exxon in MT. Very quiet place.... 10 more driving hrs tomorrow... I like that!

Here are some I've taken over the past couple of weeks with my phone, one of these days I may buy myself a digital camera...
I stopped at a dunkin doughnuts for a coffee up in NY this week.
These next two I took last week coming out of Chicago on the Indiana toll road then the next day coming back through.
headed east
headed west the next day.
I feel for the guys who ended up twisted up on the pike that day, I guess they had 6 serious truck accidents that day/night...Rocks Thanks this. -
Oh man!! Logan! That's awful!! I saw that truck all twisted like that on I-80W this week, can't remember the day... It was quite

Terrible!!! Thank you for the pictures.
Logan76 Thanks this. -
This past week I delivered to OK (Cimarron Turnpike Authority MM24), loaded at the Bonner Springs Caves a couple times, and spent about 3 nights parked on the frontage street in front of Brahms Dairy in McPherson. It seemed I'd run out of hours in that area.
One of the times that I ran out of hours, I'd loaded AB-3 at the quarry near our shop. There is no weighmaster, the ticket is filled out by the driver. You guess what your empty weight is, then do a gross weight. Well they had a replacement loaderman, as the main one was in the hospital. So after loading me I weighed and was grossing 79,600. Not enough, I needed to be closer to our max of 85.5k. So I backed off the scale, and he loaded one more bucket on the front. I wanted it toward the front, kinda in the middle. This time my gross was 93k. No way could one bucket make that much difference. Anyway had to dump some off, but not as easy as it sounds. The majority of the load was in the nose. Bed kept leaning, finally shoveled some off. This time gross was 83k. Basically their scales had to be messed up, I didn't shovel off 10k pounds.
Of course home for the weekend, preloaded with salt for KDOT, Baldwin Jct, which is less than an hour from the shop. I will not have to leave early Monday, because the KDOT worker does good to get there at 8 or 8:30am, and most of the time is in a foul mood.
By the looks of the weather for next week, we may still have some salt to haul. After yesterday being around 80, I figured it was done, so did the workers at the salt mine. -

Those KDOT workers have to keep the highways clean for me, Eaton. It's a huge difference in the condition of the roads from MO and crossing in to KS. KS seems to do a lot better job of keeping the highways around my route in top shape. Glad to hear you're home for the weekend. I saw so many vehicles yesterday with the top down, windows open, sunroof open. Today, everybody was bundling up and getting back to reality.
Eaton18 Thanks this. -
At a RA NE of Birmingham on I 59. Had thoughts of trying to catch the race tomorrow on my way through Bristol but looking at the weather forecast, I think it won't be worth the effort.
