Yes I have a 53 footer. I have hauled into there quite a few times in the last year. I come in from the north. After delivering I usually head south so I have to get the shuttle truck to take my trailer through the restricted section south of eureka.
When I load I get a specific direction sheet that I follow and havent had any troubles so far. I did get asked at the weigh station north of eureka what route I took and just showed him the direction sheet. He was happy with that and explained the restrictions in the area. -
I'm tempted to move back to Wisconsin just for internet service!!!!

Somewhere on I 81 in Virginia. This time heading south.

I rolled in at a rather respectable 19:30.
Not QUITE bad enough for the stupid dispatcher thread, but as I was headed out to do two drops I was told to pick up at FMC. And drop it tomorrow at SDV. A Pallet and a weight. No pick up number. So I replied are they going to be open in another hour and some. Got no response.
After last drop called and spoke to night dispatch. Told her what was up and she said I'll call you back. I wasn't even back out on Lee Rd. when she called and said we are doing it in the morning. I said "because they aren't there?" she said yes.
7 delivery tickets today. Nothing really good because I never had the trailer hooked today. -

Hope everything is ok for both of you!! We did make a quick fuel stop at that Conoco? station there at Dearborn before heading to Frankfort. Was there at 4:30pm.
Fought a pretty good head wind across US-36 yesterday. Delivered the haydite to Frankfort then made a beeline for St. Marys to load fly-ash. I was running with another one of our drivers. We both arrived out of hours at about 7:45pm. It took me until 11:30pm to get loaded. First time across scales only grossing 79k, needed more. So back to the load point. I've mentioned before you can only drive 10mph, and it's about a mile to the load points. Back across scales... 90k.
So I had to "go fishing". It was dark, and couldn't see that well. Plus the material was not flowing to the back of the trailer. Raising it up and watching, not wanting to dump too much, then suddenly, whooosh, out it came. Almost dumped the entire load. So now I grossed 59k, back to the load points. Anyway finally came up with about 83k, good enough, as it was 11:30. Needless to say we were late to the construction site at Hutchinson.
From Hutch, was sent to Marquette to load haydite for Oceola, NE. Delivered it and now sitting at the Petro off I-80 in York, NE. Will be heading out at 6am for Palmer, Ks to load beans for Bunge in Emporia.
Rocks,
Idle that truck, ya' hear girl? You are one tough woman, but old man winter is tougher.Rocks and teddy_bear6506 Thank this. -
Well this has been a very lovely day--totally drive the rec in Mo nuts--who of course blew up@shipper--who told him he was more than welcome to go back to getting it thru Sysco (@their much higher cost of course)if he is unhappy with the direct service and pricing he has been receiving of late
--course he calls me back a little nicer now askin when he might get his cheese(&no I didn't ask if he needed it 4 his whine
)soon as shop locates a starter and getz it here and puts it in--well could I just come there and get it he asks--but if course sir U R OUR CUSTOMER--I'll do anything I can to help u in ur time if need--we r all about customer service! But u might need some help--cuz my jack is dead since it charges off the motor also-(not sure he was gonna buy that-but I guess I overestimated him
-1/2 later he and helper show up--course im backed in against curb w/tandems all the way up--he parks one truck away--and asks "ok so how we gonna do this" I politely smile and say " I'm gonna open the doors 4yall&u could both jump up and down both trucks--but I would suggest--1 of yall get in my wagon and carry em to the back--and the other takes em over and stacks em on tail of ur little truck--and when they all over there both of yall jump up and restackem inside--& ur welcome to use the pallet they came off of ifn it'll help yall out--I'll even mark the bills that u did exchanged pallets so the shipper don't charge ya--it'll b our secret!
He said what about u--me I just got outta the shower now im going to bkfst-- lemme no when ur done--ok Thanx man---and I saunter off to bkfst--giglin.....
So I ask yall--when they came in to tell me they finished and clean up--they were kinda dirty and looked a little peekid to me--was it wrong of me to go fire up the truck and b grabbin gears on the on ramp directly in front of them as they came back out??
Just Wondering
Oh yeah Denton Tx--for a minute.........
