SOS going out to Eaton. You be careful and keep an eye to the sky out there tonight. Looks like some bad storms crossing in some of your territory.
Eaton18 Thanks this. -
Of course, but there is no stopping the dreaded 14.

North Platte. Got detoured in Valentine, NE due to street flooding. When I had turned south on 83, there was a black wall ahead of me. It was pretty wild. -
Thanks TB, was watching the sky. We had our granddaughter, and took her back home early. Made it back home in plenty of time. We just got some heavy rain and moderate winds.
teddy_bear6506 and FloTheWaitress Thank this. -

Keasbey NJ... trying to understand some ferriner jabberin' on the CB telling some truck driver or another that their door is ready.
BossOutlaw88 Thanks this. -
I know... and I agree. Technically you should not. Thankfully for me, I never had to drive with a blown out tire, I mean, not very far. But I remember once, while doing my PTI (post trip inspection) I noticed one of my drive axle tires was loose, out of the rim...
There was no blow out, didn't hear or felt anything while driving... Found a big screw and a big cut/ crack on the tire that caused it to lose all the air. I was at a truck stop. Called breakdown and they sent assistance. I wonder how a supper single would react in a situation like that...

Hey! Tell me about it...
Two nights ago, there was a lot of rain and strong storms.... I can't remember where it was any more...
Oh yeah, I remember... Nashville, TN... then KY, then IL and then MO... And tonight, OMG!!! Started driving at 23:00 eastern time, going towards Kansas City... a lot of flash flood and strong winds... and I was pretty light.... But thank GOD I got to destination safe and sound, dropped loaded trlr, bobtail to WM for groceries and now parked at a small, gas station in KS. It has a mud yard in the back for trucks to park.
This is where I was yesterday. A Pilot in Boonville, MO

Eaton18 and teddy_bear6506 Thank this. -
The equipment I use belongs to the company.... However I am very nitpicky about inspections and making sure everything is working well, properly and compliant. After all, it's my rear end that lives in there.
I have been very fortunate... in 5 yrs had only one blown out tire on a trailer and another on the truck that caught a big screw and lost all the air in transit and became loose from the rim.
You talk about not running over stuff.... A few days ago, I did an incredible maneuver to avoid running over a big piece of tire that could have caused some damage to the truck and tires... It was on busy I-20 in Atlanta, GA.... during rush hr, raining a lot...
We couldn't see much. All the sudden the 2 cars in front of me quickly swerved to the right and drove on the shoulder to avoid the tire...
It happened so fast... When I saw the big piece of tire, I did the same... Not very easy and fun to do that on a big truck in the middle of so much traffic and rain... After I parked, checked every inch of the truck and didn't find any damage. I was amazingly thankful.

A small gas station with a mud lot out back??? That describes about 80% of them.
It probably has huge potholes too.
Getting ready to start the week, heading to Louisburg.teddy_bear6506 and Rocks Thank this.
