I take that all the time to get from Springfield to Memphis. US63 north of Jonesboro up to MO is two lane with a number of steep grades. Being a legend, you'd think you'd already know about that. Maybe that "bedroom gas" is startin' to get to ya Redd!

    :biggrin_2559:

Its 455 vs 521 miles. All the little towns and and lower speed limits will eat up that so called "savings."

I'm not gonna argue about it.... Everyone has their own little preference.

Katz, just come by the house. I'm probably gonna need some help getting that old rusted muffler off my truck anyhow. Been ####### with it all day & it just won't move.

I almost made up my mind to take the backroad (less holiday 4-wheeler traffic, probably) and now I see this...

Alright. That's gonna cost you a leg, though.

I'll see you tomorrow. Run the engine at fast idle (or just drive around) until the exhaust gets scorching hot, then soak all the joints on the muffler with PB blaster before you go to bed.

That's good. Cause I'm all out of samples!

It can't be that simple. Still, how will it release the rust? My muffler slides over the elbow & the stack

Get a come along and put some tension on it and then beat on it...As it starts to move take up the slack in the come along and keep bangin' on it.

    It'll come off.

Get at it from the top Redd. Stand on your headache rack and move it back and forth all directions. It will come loose.

I had an idea you had already been doing so, but it was the only suggestion I had. Must be one stubborn muffler. Good luck with it, Redd.
