FYI:

Aug 2010 I picked up a new Delco 36-SI alternator (170A) from TruckPro. They had the best price I had found anywhere ($450 new)... Leece-Neville makes a cheaper one though and it has decent specs...

JD. The alternator is fine. The eye connector that bolts to the alternator broke. I just have to crimp a new one on there & I'll be good to go.

Right now the red charging csble is just pressed up to the eye connector. Zip ties are holding it in place.

A good emergency repair to get me home. Been like that 190 miles so far!!

 

I'm really really really gettin' tired of Nebraska and tourists. All week, all I've done is run Denver to W. Nebraska and back with either beans or popcorn. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow, yep, popcorn, 48,500 lbs worth.

The tanks we have are smooth bore. The surge is not bad though, but so far I believe its worse side to side than it is front to back.
