Bumpy I hope thing get better for you. I know how bad that hurts I just lost my lab last month.
I remember I was busy backing Into a spot at the TA to have my student take over
and I just stopped pulled the brakes told him to finish the back.
Then got our showers and got it out of my system while in the shower.
Lossing a doggy all ways sucks. You would think as we get older we would get used to it.
    But alast we never do.

    Bumpy Thanks this.

Okay, first, let me say I know how it feels to lose the only confidante that you can trust to never spill your secrets. My girl Nekko had to be helped across the Rainbow Bridge when she was 16 years old. Ten years later and it still makes my throat narrow and my eyes water a little. I just don't know what I would do if I lost my AJ at the young age of 8. I'm not ready to face that. But, are we ever?

Second, I am not Christian, but I do believe in spirituality...Native style. My belief is your friend took a walk across that Rainbow Bridge and will be there to greet you and lick your face when you arrive. For now, he is helping get everything ready for you by dogging up your future home, hairing your easy chair, scratching the carpet by the door, sleeping in your bed and making sure just the right amount of slobber in and on your slippers so you'll feel at home when you get there. But he knows it's not your turn and he needs time to get everything "just so" for you.

Third: You were able to be there for his last moments. Your truck going in the shop gave you and him those precious last minutes to tell each other you love each other. This in and of itself is irreplaceable. I'm absolutely certain there was nobody else in this entire world he would have wanted to share that last little bit of time with than you.

Fourth: I don't know whether you consider this loosely connected bunch of clowns and rabble to be "friends" but I'm sure there are many here who would be honored to have that distinction. So please do not think yourself friendless. Although we will never know you the way your best buddy did (not that I want to know what your butt smells like) we do have a lot of shared laughs, irritations and experiences.

May the Grandmothers bring you comfort in this difficult time.

I do believe you have me and someone else mixed up though.....Atheist....?? No way,..One only has to watch a sunrise & sunset in solitude to know there is a Power greater than ourselves... Evil is evident everywhere.,and for this their must be a Supreme force.,however,if one looks closer and harder,we can also spot good, which,in turn, also must have a Supreme force....Cause in the Universe, everything has an opposite....Atheist...? Nah.... Makes no sense at all....

You are correct, then. I mixed you up with someone else. My apologies.

But I stand by my assertion that Auggie will be waiting for you when it is time for you to join him on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
