I spoke with the TM at one of the Dallas locations and was told I'd keep my seniority. Also, the pay there is basically the same as my current terminal. I'm going to reach out to the other ones in Ft. Worth, Irving, and Houston (Collingsworth) too.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations.

My cousin lived in Houston for a few years and lived in Richland area. She said there's lots of crime in Houston, so have to be careful where you choose to live.
RICHLAND is in the East Houston neighborhood in Houston, TX

Dunno about Dallas but in my area (MSP) the highest is XPO at $33.48/hr with OT after 8 hrs per day.

I met a yard driver not too long ago that said something similar. He said all the bigger carriers acted like he needed to go threw thier schooling and sign on as a new driver.
I told him to get some help writing a real good resume and post it with an online job board. He did and he got some offers, nothing that offered pay for years of experiance but by presenting himself professionally got one company to hire him on as a new driver at a pay rate a fair bit better than he was making as a yard driver. His text to me said thanks for the reference, he only had to have someone ride with him for a week and he is very happy with his new job.

Attach any records from company training you may have received to that resume. Someone will call and give you a chance but it might take a bit so be patient.

Almost forgot, Make sure you communicate with your HR department. Many companies that don’t have trucks on the highway have issues giving good info when a Prospective employer inquires about you. I dealt with that first hand when I did some office time after knee surgery and had to help hire for the company.

Best around here I think is FedEx in South Bend at I think $30.50/hr. That was about a year ago so might be higher now. Dayton was hiring guys off the street at top pay, which was around $29.50 again about a year ago when I was checking back into dock bumping jobs.

$35 would be #### near UPS money.

$35/hour is a steep bar IMHO.

Most of us cross that threshold when we are lucky (or unlucky) to see OT. Almost everyone pays about the same. If they pay less hourly (like my company does) it is because they have better benefits.

XPO is at 32.24, but you would start at the bottom of the ladder.

Dallas terminal has high turnover and you would move into a decent start time pretty quickly, though.

When I applied to XPO in July the recruiter offered top scale for having some experience. Could be one of those things that depends on the terminal.
