So Don Cherry was let go. Just read that online. I didn't watch the video but read some of the quotes from the article about what he said. Sad day when you get strung up by your nuts for having an opinion. People today are just too sensitive.

In New Zealand we wore poppies on ANZAC day, April 25th each year. (Australia New Zealand Army Corp)

This date signifies the start of the first campaign in which heavy casualties were sustained - the Gallipoli offensive on Constantinople, I believe.

The poppy was a donation to the RSA (Returned Services Association).

Grandad served in WW2 as a radio operator. Dad did his time in compulsory service at a time of peace.

As most in the services here realize, NZ and most other Commonwealth countries served in every major conflict from the Boer War onwards - Korea, Vietnam included.

I make a donation every year and remember and respect the sacrifices made regardless of which country I reside in.

 

More knowledge here than the rest of the site combined.

 

That's why I love this thread. I've only ever been as far south as Grand Forks, ND. I learn so much about the US in here.
