Dad's truck is only technically legal for Arkansas. He's eyeballing a small sleeper truck in Memphis to trade his day cab for. I'm trying to find info on if he needs a permit to go over there to trade trucks.

He called when he bought his trailer and asked if he needed a permit and they told him it was some astronomical amount, I think they were full of #### because it wasn't being used commercially to cross the river pick up an empty trailer and come back but that's what he was told. If he was over there conducting interstate commerce then I'd understand why he needed one. But I can't find anything that's specific to just operating a truck privately not engaging in commerce going into and out of TN
