    So, do they work for a company or something? They just buy them at auction and take them south?

    That i dont know but they arent all going to mexico im sure. Just maybe in your area they are. Id say these buy here pay here lots are most likely whos doing it. But thats just my guess.

    Yeah, I have no idea. I just see them going down the road. Always header south. Who knows. Just always made me wonder.

    They’re headed to about any Central American country. A totaled car here is still very valuable to them. Labor is cheap so they prefer putting a lot of work into fixing up a wrecked vehicle rather than pay full price for a good one.

    They are taking them to locations south of the border. The final destination could be any number of places. Small and light duty pickup trucks are the most popular. 4X4’ are bonus. Mini-vans are also good. Isuzu class 6/7 COE’s are the preferred “work” vehicles. Then the parts. Almost every vehicle will be stuffed with parts. I have been told that these “convoys” are family business. They work off lists of orders. Ride a bus up to say Chicago, find a few good running vehicles on the list, then hit all the auto yards and pull parts. Drive them back.
