I hope you didn't drive all the way to the gulf to find that out...

I did a piece last week down to the south side of Chicago. Customer called it in and said 2700. I went over in my pickup and they said 4000. Weighed it real quick and it was only 2300. 20 mpg in the pickup vs 5mpg in my semi for a 2300lb skid.

Yep, drive all the way down to find it was 14,600 pounds. Thing is he bought it from an auction and got the info from the auction, but it belonged to another company. The auction company phone was in Washington state, forklift in Florida.

On the positive side, customer paid full amount for both trips with no issue….. IMG_7707.jpeg

17047509629112873692536098865219.jpg Safety tip: If you remove the remnant of the broken winch cable to install a new one simply setting your glove on the machine won't work. They have to be on your hands no matter how distracted or in a hurry you are.

    Uh oh.

From recent experience, avoid the trip to the ER if at all possible.

Steel cable bad. I only use synthetic ropes now. No more sharp broken wires sticking out. If it breaks it's easy to splice it back together to get home.

Well if, you're right handed - there's a slight silver lining.

Silvadene, if you have any laying about.
