They'd only make Jerry if Jill was a stripper, Worn was actually the Father, and Jack and Zac were a queer couple.

    And the alternator was stolen.

More like 2 single drivers and 3 or 4 others in various stages of bliss, thin bliss, and outright animosity.
Canton, MS in 1955. James and this other fella almost foundered on the available supply of good stuff...

Yup, some Ricky and Lucy stuff right there. I didn’t know how far that good east coast show travelled.

This story is eerily similar to something that happened to me. I was working in Pisgah for the Jiffy Lube and.Car Wash when a single mother pulled in driving a Cadillac Cimarron, a car that is both classy and practical.

The personalized tag said SXYDRFTR, and the lady was attractive but worn down from life. The car smelled of Similac and Marlboros. She said it had a noise in the upper end, fluctuating oil pressure and charging issues. I pulled the valve cover and found an empty bag of Haribo Gummy Bears, indicative of it being worked on in Arkansas.

After removing the bag, I dropped the oil pan. Apparently someone had used an aluminum can of Copenhagen to make two rod bearings. The bearings had the initials E.F. on them. New bearings installed and now the charging issue.

It was hard to source an alternator so in comes @sawmill who happened to have a spare off an old bus that had been running a hydrogen pump. I swapped pulleys out, installed it and she drove off into the sunset.

The credit card she gave me was stolen, so I am out the labor and I have to pay Sawmill back. Lesson learned, no more helping single mothers.

I think I had helped her out before, she had moonlighted with Landstar for several years , even earning her $500 gift card for 10 years of safe driving.

Last I heard, she was facing gift card fraud charges, racking up felonies on lottery tickets, scratch offs and buying pedal adapters for the Cadillac Cimmaron.
