Ok I think I figured it out. I know green wire came off (from the pic of the switch I posted) the lower left terminal. So if my thinking is correct, and every once in awhile it is, the top left would be red, top right is brown and lower right is black.

When you buy a new switch buy 2 and carry a spare with you, the switches are straight junk. The first one lasted almost 20 years in my truck and am now on my 4th in 5 years. I am now on my spare and need to pick up a couple more next time I am at peterbilt. Mine is also hardwired now, the little black connector is also straight junk

Is it frozen at least?

Yep. I got 4 out of this one. 1st, I dont know because it was in the truck when I bought it, but I suspect it was the original.
Only problem with the current switch is the #### connector on the back of the switch is loose. Its also marked Made in Mexico, so Im not surprised. -
Frozenish

COLE HERSEE 55017 is the same switch but less than 1/2 the price of Peterbilt most places. I saw some on ebay for $20 with free shipping.

girl drives it. Red wheels too. There’s a joke in here somewhere @ElmerFudpucker -
I did, that's why I was agreeing with your point about 239 being ground, I followed it to the starter where it states it's ground....the problem is it doesn't state the color at the light switch, or along the wire, and as any good mechanic knows, you can't necessarily trust color wiring that may have been substituted...it either is the color the schematic shows it to be, either in a legend or on the schematic wire line itself that describes the guage wire, or you check the terminal it comes from when the switch is in the required position. Nothing in that Supermiller schematic tells me what color the line and which terminal on the switch that it goes to.Last edited: Mar 12, 2026
