Yup -

Watched the whole enchilada for old time's sakes.

We used to play this one, me the unfortunate drummer - great jam. The Hendrix studio version was about half the pace - you could tell by about the second drummers' intro break he was like "OH - we're playing it THIS speed !!"

The set list would be marked "S1 and R2, or S1 and 2, R3" for each song - we had two guitarists, equally as good, sharing the solos - this would let them know at a glance who was gonna take what for the guitar solos in the song. There was usually verbal disagreements over this track.

I was never aware of this track until a company back in the old country began using it for backing music in advertising.

Parents - teach your kids good music . . . .

 

Just figured it out - after I was tagged in here . . .

Is this where all the cool kids hang out after we've smashed our heads into concrete blocks trying to help out the one-post wonders?

Almost like "social media relief for tired truckers" ??

 

Whenever I see him play (on video of coarse) I'm just mesmerized at his ability to just man handle the neck, He was like a machine with feeling!

Yeah - mesmerizing is the word for him, he was a beast of a player. You can see in the final wrap up of that one - he's itching to bleed out another 2 minutes of scale shredding wrap up, but brings it to an end just to move the night along.

Brilliance.
