Yup - there's a lot of pain involved, it just shifts from one party to the other.
I could always understand the decision when it's well planned, in terminal cases - but in cases of conceived inconvenience or hardship/depression - not so.

Is a twin turbo c15 an acert? Are there downsides to this engine? Or would it be worth it to toss a few bucks at later and be better off than an n14 or 60 or 3406?
Asking $17,7 with 1.3 looks like new head but no overhaul paperwork.cke, Shock Therapy, BigBob410 and 7 others Thank this. -
Yes the twin turbo C15 is an ACERT engine, it has its faults along with every engine produced but overall it was a good product. The main sticking point was IVA studs failing and scrambling the overhead but that was remedied with new style hardware long ago.SAR, cke, Shock Therapy and 17 others Thank this.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, a fresh rebuild doesn't magically boost the value of a truck, lol.cke, Shock Therapy, Crusader66 and 16 others Thank this.

I've got the same truck and I think it runs great!cke, Shock Therapy, Crusader66 and 10 others Thank this.

Yes, all twins are ACERT's. C-13 were the first to get it. None are pre-ELD.
Get oil samples and history on ACERT's. BXS, MXS and NXS are all fantastic motors if they have been well maintained. 475/1650 is the magic number for power around 80,000 lbs. 13-speed and 3.42-3.73 rears and you'll be signing.cke, Shock Therapy, Crusader66 and 13 others Thank this.
