That’s what I dig too - massive thrust force.

Find myself mumbling out loud to the Captain on landing approaches - “There you go . . . Eaaaasy now, . . . Back her down . . . Jakes on full stage . . . “

Internal flights are usually cut and paste, routine affairs , a little lacking in the professional aspect. You’ll note a big difference when you hop on International carriers.

Think - “x1 Heavy airlines vs. Ruthless Transcontinental Flight Service”

My wife worked on Katrina cleanup for 13 months. At the last minute I decided to surprise her for New Year's Eve and fly down. One of the fights that I was on was in an old DC9 I think...... I'm not sure but I do know that it had only two engines, one on each side of the fuselage near the back.

As it was a last minute deal I didn't get one of the more favorable seats, and ended up sitting right next to the engine in the back of the plane. Man it was loud back there. Anyway, we were landing and there must have been quite a cross wind, because the plane was dancing all around and the pilot was on and off the throttles constantly. When we finally hit it felt like we were at about a 30 degree angle to the direction of the runway. All was safe and sound, but that pilot had to really fly that thing all the way in. I'm sure it was routine for the pilot, but that was the only time that I ever wondered if we were going to end up on the wheels.

    Good times @OLDSKOOLERnWV !

Speaking of ‘Crop Dusting’ - @OLDSKOOLERnWV - just wait till you exit the plane and walk into the terminal - all that pent up flatulence . . .

Wife said it would be around a 2 hour flight to Florida. I try to be a good guy and give everyone a chance..... that said, a smart ### or a guy disrespecting others can bring about a side I try to keep hidden. Hopefully all will be good, as long as my wife and family enjoy it I'll work through it all. I know brother said something about a private Cadamaran? Some kind of boat for a scuba diving ordeal out in the water somewhere. All I know is this..... We're suppose to stop somewhere in the Bahamas, somewhere in Mexico, then to Honduras where we make a U-turn and stop somewhere on the way back. 7 days total I think. This was all my brothers idea, and it's his gift to all his family for Christmas, he is paying for it. We just pay for the flight and extras on the boat. He has done well for himself and I guess he has the means to do all this. I guess having a good head in business and sales has payed off.

As they say "once you put it on the floor there ain't no turning back". I liked the plane, but still my fav is hammering on a harley with alot of torque and the feel of your feet come off the forward pegs, you butt shoved into see and hands just hanging on. My younger brother is a sport bike kinda guy. He finally rode my harley and said "now I see why you like that". Guess he is thinking about getting one now for a daily ride because of it.
