It has been my experience that cows are always easier to handle with a gentle touch........until that doesn't work!

Sometimes I think hotshots should never have been invented, other times I wish they had more juice.

When I was 14 I went to work on a ranch for the summer in Grangeville, ID.

One day the boss took me to town to pick supplies up at the Grange (usually called co-ops now). They had some cattle prods on display. Not the fiberglass type with the two prongs about an inch apart and a button on the grip, but the old type that was like a steel tube, and another tube slightly bigger that had a grip like a bicycle handlebar grip. You would just push the tube, and the pressure would make contact and zap.

I thought that they didn't have batteries in them, being on display and all. I grabbed one and poked my boss in the belly. You guessed it, it had batteries. He yelped and I ran for the pickup.

 

And ran FAST , I bet!

 

Fast as I could go!

 

Steak sucked. Dessert was good. Conversation was better.

Since Booze is a major contributor to the cruise ships bottom line - you have a better chance of smuggling terrorists back on the ship in your beach towel than either booze or bottled water....

Mostly anymore, you buy a a booze package for the trip and it becomes like an all inclusive type deal. That is except for the high dollar booze, then they get extra

They also take your duty free booze away from you at each port and don’t give it back till just before you declare it at customs.
