Dye seemed like a good kid from what I read on here. Men like that will be missed. We all have lost a good one, RIP.

Boy - can't leave you kids alone for a day! 480+ messages to catch up on.
@Heavy Hammer - thanks for informing us on that. Sad news, too young. RIP @Dye Guardian. Connor.
@Czar_Zero - sorry to hear that bud. Little furry critter will be missed. I like a well behaved dog, but there's something about a good cat that's hard to beat. They're not all the same. Axel the Maine Coon that I plucked from the intersection in Iowa has been a great little guy - only cat I've met that actually stops short of the chow bowl in the morning to be picked up for a hug. And he actually hugs on ya. 'Daddys' cat - Gretchen says. We both hate getting attached to critters, but they find you for a reason. Cats simply leave a bad owner/human - they choose you.
@MagnumaMoose - ya big softy. Good laugh at the electronic log post, as I fool with fire-starting logs here . . .
@Ruthless - more chuckles on Vienna sausages curing constipation.
@ShooterK2 - best of luck on the maiden voyage. At the very least you should be well versed in taking that puppy apart and back together again.
I replaced a head on the tractor a few weeks back and got nervous about the rocker oiler tube, so I fired it up sans valve cover to check it was getting feed - wish I'd posted about that, may have jogged an action in your mind.
Dumped some scrap metal yesterday, sold a couple of items on FB marketplace - just love dealing with cheap SOB's and tire kickers. Also went down to the real estate office and signed up two of the rentals for sale. Done with tenants. The rental in town here, we've figured out a rough 'lease to own' 'rent/purchase' for the gal that's been there 5 years already - she's the only one that 'gets it' so far as a tenant is concerned, and contributes - rather than the rest of them that have their sad stories about no rent, problems, bug infestations they've brought with them and property damage that somehow isn't their fault.
Feel like a welfare provider half the time. They probably think we're high on the hog with 4 rentals - in reality when you crunch the numbers - I can run that Pete down the road for a good 10 days and net what those PITA rentals clear in a year. So F it. I'd rather stick the $ in the bank and open the statement every quarter.
Meanwhile, I've got a bloody cold of some form, and a spot in my ribs feels like a softball got pitched at it. Went to the Chiropracter and he didn't find it, so I dunno. Truck is still coming together, not in the mood for trucks at the moment so I'm not pressuring him.
Truck on folks! -
37 minutes and she cranked over with ease. Fuel was treated and 911 added. Davco clouded right up. But she is running and we are just gonna let it make a little heat before anything else.

@blairandgretchen
Cat we lost was his momma's boy. Always was a scaredy cat who was stand offish with everyone but my wife. A few months ago he actually started to come see me for pets and occasionally sat on my lap. Mouthy little guy who always had a lot to say.
"My" cat, who is getting tested for FLV today, gets up in the morning with me and sees me off to work. Greets me at the door when I get home and won't leave me alone until I pick him up and carry him around. Hope his test comes back negative.
Hope the other two come out fine as well. One is a super sweet, fat female and the other is just barely a year old. -
Only 600 miles on that filter but what are you gonna do. I buy most of my fuel at the same place and this is the first time ever to have issue plus sub 0 temps. Not really anyones fault and just part of trucking.

I met Connor through this forum, and only personally met him less than a year before the tragedy.
He stopped by my shop on his west job quest, and some friends and I helped hook him up with his gig, but the gig was from a friend of a friend...
None of the western gig was on the forum and didn't know of mine and Link's connection, so we slipped through the cracks on the notification.
Since I hadn't heard anything about it, I knew all of you were also in the dark, so I felt compelled to share it.
Not sure I would even know how to approach the family 6 months later, perhaps the guestbook in the Obituary?Al. Roper, tony97905, peterbilt_2005 and 33 others Thank this. -
I remember he posted a few pics of the truck he ran up in BC somewhere on this site but that was all I remember of that gig.
