Buddy that I stole the idea from mentioned the same, put a piece of tarp or something on the front to deflect road grime.
As for theft - the 60 by 40 is a 3 man job, the 30 by 30 is a 2 man lift, and the 4 and 6 foot drops are not worth the risk.
I’ve never had anything stolen in the 15 years I’ve lived and worked here - unlike NZ - they’ll steal a garden hose if you don’t put it up.

It’s functional.
I’m not thrilled with 250lbs of rack and 600 lbs of tarp to further drag me down, but I lost out on a $13k odd load by not having tarps the other week - so it had to happen.snowman_w900, Zeviander, BigBob410 and 21 others Thank this. -
