Your FIL was right! They should probably pay him something considering what they charge for one. I bet they’re $250k now. That said, we wouldn’t operate without one. This is our 2nd.

They tried to talk him out of it, and didn't pay him squat for his idea. His was on a used ford chassis they picked up. The original one was a school bus. They cut the body off behind the door and went from there. They also used retired refuse trucks from the NY City area for a while.

I wish!! I can't tell y'all how bad the company I went with broke it off in me!! I got about 30 applications out! I wish I would've just stayed where I was. I guess I hurt they're feelings'cause they won't take me back. 2 other companies want me to start but don't have trucks available. Apparently Cottrell can't keep up with the demand. In the meantime we're getting starved out. Between my bills and helping my Mom out with my brother's stuff since his stroke we depleted everything. Wish I would've planned this out better. We'll land on our feet though! As long as I can get up outta bed I'll figure something!!

Just caught up - @tony97905 was right on the oil pressure sensor - mine got to reading 70 or 80 psi - changed it out.

Scan guage for $150 is not a bad investment to double check your dash guages.

    Also reads and clears codes.

I’ll respectfully disagree with @jamespmack - if parts are relatively cheap, I’ll change them out just because - I prefer the piece of mind of new parts.

    Definitely start replacing fuel lines.

@wore out - you better be close, and hungry - got a ton of bbq and smoked chicken leftover.

  9. That's why I call it being paid to go on vacation. Don't look at as a job.

That has been on the net for at least a year . Shame

My theory on random part changes is why not? If it don't fix the problem then you got a good used spare with you at all times for the day your gonna need it.
These pimple faced "service tecs" will spend 3 hours and 3 hundred dollars labor trying to decide if a hundred dollar part is good or not...
Put the dam thing on there and give it a go!
I got more stuff stashed away in a 48" flat top than some shops got in inventory. New and good used.
It's saved my rear many a time.
